Our aim is to investigate the Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) – in particular non-manual elements (nonmanuals) including facial expressions such as eyebrow movements, mouth actions etc. as well as head and body movements.

Findings on nonmanuals in ÖGS primarily date from the following two projects: “The Contribution of Nonmanuals to Clauses in Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS)” (P29847) and “Segmentation and Structuring of Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) Texts” (P23867). The projects have been funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
